Cure Mito Fundation

Kasey Woleben established the Cure Mito foundation six years ago as Cure SURF1 Foundation because her son, Will, was diagnosed with SURF1 Leigh syndrome. We have been working together since then to help Will and other SURF1 patients to find hope through gene therapy. Kasey then changed the name of the foundation to Cure Mito Foundation to help other mitochondrial disease kids, including MTATP6.

Cure LONP1

Aria Flynn is a fighter for miracles. We recently started fighting through her journey together to develop a gene therapy for patients with LONP1 mutations.

Uplifting Athletes

Penn State University football player Scott Shirley established Uplifting Athletes in 2003. Since then, they have been sponsoring many rare disease research projects, including our gene therapy development for MTATP6.
