Our care team of faculty, physician-scientists, neurologists, PhD scientists, nurses, and research coordinators. We seek to understand the mechanisms underlying ALS, muscular dystrophy (Duchenne Muscular Dystrophy, FSHD), and other neuromuscular diseases by investigating the biology, genes, proteins, and pathways known or suspected to contribute to neurodegeneration. We offer support services designed to increase the quality of life for our patients. Our specialists strive to manage your expectations and needs, including medication strategies and treatment options with clinical trial intervention.
Our clinical research investigations include both observational and interventional studies. Observational studies do not involve therapy or treatment but aim to gather information about the fundamental causes of neuromuscular diseases. Interventional studies involve investigational drugs and strive to gain an understanding of the safety of the drug and whether it can help slow or stop disease progression.
