Research Focus

The Gibson Lab has been conducting an observational study to evaluate CMV transmission and immune correlates of viral shedding among young children in early education and childcare centers.

The CMV Transmission and Immune Tracking (TransmIT) Study examines epidemiologic, virologic, and immunologic factors that may reduce the risk of CMV transmission between children in these settings and from children to their household members. Results from this study will contribute to development of future prevention or treatment options for cCMV infection.
