The Greater Boston Employment Collaborative (GBEC) is a vibrant partnership between service providers, government agencies, workforce development entities, and employers working towards one common goal - to increase employment opportunities for individuals with disabilities. Our pool of candidates includes individuals from 30 towns from Belmont to Winthrop, who experience either a mental illness, a developmental disability, or in some cases, a physical disability. Job candidates have a range of interests, skills, and level of education, but all share one common trait – the commitment and desire to enter the workforce and contribute positively to a local employer. LABBB Collaborative

The LABBB Collaborative has long distinguished itself as an institution that strives to provide special needs students with the academic and emotional skills to successfully transition into adult life. Offering services to the municipalities of Lexington, Arlington, Burlington, Bedford, and Belmont, in addition to nearby towns, LABBB provides the necessary expertise and resources to students and their parents throughout the Commonwealth. Programs unique to LABBB include i-Work (School to Work Program), an opportunity for students to gain competitive employment skills through job training and actual experience working with one of LABBB's partners. Additionally, students ranging from ages 18 to 21 are eligible to enroll in the Inclusive Concurrent Enrollment Initiative (ICEI). With an emphasis on academics, campus life, independence, and competitive employment, ICEI helps to solidify the skills students need before they take the next step into their adult lives.

Accept Education Collaborative

At ACCEPT's Center for Learning and Growth, the transition programs prepare students for a successful passage to adult living. We view each student as the unique individual they are and, using their IEP and results from transition and vocational assessments, develop a personalized transition plan to maximize independence, vocational potential, participation in the community and help students meet their postsecondary vision. At the heart of our transition programs is an integrated team model that seamlessly blends functional academics, community experiences, social skills development, specialized services, vocational training, and independent living skills. The programs take full advantage of current research showing that weaving these varied supports throughout the day results in greater generalization and therefore more independence and better outcomes for students. We believe that every day should be an opportunity for students to develop self-confidence, self-awareness, and the life skills to pursue their passions.
